the world might be going to shit in the last 2 years but at least dwrp stays about the same

im back in rp after a long hiatus and it's been a nice way to decompress, i already know exactly what fuckery to expect from you nerds at least

this is a nice way to look at it. i clicked through bakerstreet a bit earlier and it felt strangely comforting to see that nothing much has changed, even though i myself changed a lot in the past two years. i think i'd feel more nervous about jumping back in if everything was different now.

i think it's changed over the last couple of years, at least the social side of it feels like it's changed. everyone seems much more anxious and tired all the time than before (which is totally understandable). it feels like there's less tolerance for stupid bullshit but also lots of people on a hair trigger and basically scraping through day to day, which impacts rp habits as well. i feel like it's much more common now to drop threads because you don't have the energy for them and simultaneously be constantly looking for something new to sustain a brief serotonin high

(said as someone who definitely does all of the above, god i'm so exhausted)
