id agree if this particular line wasn't one of the most commonly quoted without biblical context in all sorts of media. you'd have to have a really tiny pool of reference to assume 'stupid vidya game hawh hawh' instead of 'normal proverb'

or just one which does not reference bible proverbs

it’s not even a bible proverb, it’s a proverb that appears in the bible because it’s so old and common, it’s like if someone said ‘it’s better to be safe than sorry’ and it got the reaction ‘what are you some kind of weaboo’

i still dont think that not immediately recognizing old as balls proverbs for being from the bible is indicative of a poor education and youre not going to convince me because it is a stupid thing to say to begin with
