They don't even want people to speak directly, they want them to speak privately so they can exaggerate what was said to them. It's all public now and they're losing their minds because only they think their behavior is sane and okay and it's a reality check they're not prepared for.

When people do speak up directly they rally all their friends to shout it down and find any other reason to cast just enough doubt and then the mods issue some lukewarm response until people forget about it.

The victims have to live with the aftermath of being targeted but the rest of these psychos have gotten away scot-free.
