blizzard employees are getting scraps for all the abuse they have to endure. this has been the topic of news for years. ayrt lives under a rock.

what's bananas to me is that it doesn't look like they made any other official statement about the game closing, it looks like? i think the volunteer post is still up but there's nothing concrete saying the game is closed. now the plurk is locked down, there really isn't anything other than these screencaps, so if you were a current player who wasn't around during those two days or have a plurk, you'd probably still be in the dark about the game's status.

lmao is sail's mod trek??? because that would explain so much. don't go to sail, but i've been in dwrp long enough to know that for some reason, gsai has not been able to stop grudgewanking on them for the past decade. nobody fucking cares about trek, they've barely been in the rp scene for a while, but gsai keeps fucking that chicken like somehow trek wank is the key to distracting everyone from what a shitheel he is.

at most trek was used as an attempt to distract from gsai wank because trek was one of the first who replurked the callout plurk, and thus was also suspected of being the anon behind the sock account.

never played with him back in the day but he's honestly changed for the better from what i've seen. yes, he's still playing a teenage girl, but i haven't seen him even have a whiff of anything shipping-related in his posts with luz, let alone smut, and he's been in the game for about two years now. it wasn't even until just the past few months luz got a girlfriend and that's still been pretty restrained pg content.

he's still pretty awkward socially (but who isn't around these parts?) and very much a yes-man for anyone whining about things being unfair to them like when tf and pan had their persecution complexes but other than that he's behaving himself.

In contrast to an anon above, I didn't know about his reputation when we first met, and as someone who played a teenaged girl in his orbit for a while he did still give me some creeper vibes. For the most part it was just little things that added up, like seeing him approach a different female character for an event prompt that could lead to shippy stuff only to be turned down because he had not realized this character he supposedly had close longterm CR with was an adult several years older than Luz despite the art.

The point where I stopped interacting with him entirely was when he was asking about further threads with my character and I told him to hold off on it because I needed to check in with another player who was having an emergency first, and I was waiting until things calmed down before I talked to them about RP. He proceeded to go bother that player behind my back, while they were still openly in the middle of their "close relative dying" level emergency, in the name of having a dumb slice of life "girl bonding" thread with me.

I do not think he has stopped being a creep. I think he's been made aware that creep behaviors are frowned upon and he'll get nothing if he doesn't at least make an effort to pretend he wants anything else. About the only credit I can give him is that he did leave me alone when he realized our CR wasn't going to go where he wanted it to, but at the same time, that made it pretty clear he wasn't really interested in my character otherwise.

That sort of thinking is just trying to absolve yourself of responsibility. If you want to play/buy the games, just do that while acknowledging that Blizzard is shitty. That's more respectable than trying to pretend it's an act of charity.
