tbh i'm always skeptical of those claims in general unless someone provides concrete deets because i've had way too many incidents with people i know irl crying about how they were being "mistreated" when it turned out that people just weren't bending over backwards and letting them do whatever they wanted, or someone told them "no" and they took it as a horrible personal affront.

to be fair to your third point, it depends a lot on the school. it took me until after graduating to learn that some of my classmates were queer, because it was a protestant school in asia. harry potter was popular around the time i was there too so i think it tracks. probably nowadays it's different but during the time period we were reading it, it wouldn't be unusual in some places.

Nah, horror's easier to make a fun game out of, even if there are too many horror games. Exploration games almost always end up focusing more on getting to new places and describing how they look than making them interactive and interesting to engage with in a text-based medium.

i have multiple times seen people supplied with concrete details of bad behavior in the realm of dreamwidth and seen them continue on happily. sure, there is a certain level of bad behavior where the majority of people will refuse to interact: we don't tolerate rapists or what i would call "serious" bad behavior. but we do tolerate stalking and harassment of levels that i suppose people can justify as "minor" bad behavior.

i don't think this is a terrible thing or a good thing. it is what it is and it's just pointless to expect everyone to suddenly care that gsai has harassed people previously. since it wasn't happening to them most people will not care. even if it happened to their friends they might not care. there is a level of bad behavior in dw that people will sort of half heartedly condemn but actively ignore and forgive because it is too much effort to do otherwise.

there are a lot of players that played with them in other games they were in before this too. if they never had any issues interacting with them before and someone shows them "concrete" details it's probably going to look like grudgewank however you slice it, especially because a lot of those deets are pretty old.

remember when people were blowing off the ryslig wank because it was 5 months old at the time the paste got dropped? and now people are expected to take even older deets as reliable evidence of current wrongdoing? good luck
