yeah, that's bullshit

if your playerbase is mature enough to play in a conflict-heavy environment with plenty of open conversation and/or acceptance of a randomized result if an ooc conclusion couldn't be reached, it's possible. for the most part players in this game were able to settle their own pvps for months without too much issue. the problem here was the poor modding and the clear and apparent quix-ness of it all, which would have happened regardless of whether or not it was a faction game

and i know this is a few anons up but why is cdc even being brought up when faction games are being discussed that wasn't even a faction game

I think people are misremembering the teams in CDC as "factions". CDC was part of a superficially similar looking but separate category of games where you put your character in a Hogwarts House, which is funny given this post harhar

i agree with you but it's also been pretty consistent that the only people willing to mod faction games are over-invested controlling weirdos who bully players and force themselves into the spotlight.

and the ones that aren't like that burn out.

modding a game this intense requires either a red-flag level of overinvestment or like 5-8 mods who all consistently pull their own weight.
