Honest question: is this game always so focused on sex? As a newbie I have to admit I'm kind of put off by the sheer amount of it. I don't want to come off as a prude because I don't mind people playing smut outside of sex games but it really is a lot in this one.

idk if you mean new to ryslig or new in general, but if you ask a question like this here you're way more likely to get ridicule than serious answers

i'll start: how does other people playing smut affect you personally

New to Ryslig, but it's not that other people happen to be playing smut it's that a large portion of the game seems to very frequently shift focus to orgies and hookups and monster genitalia and temp changes bringing new ways to fuck. Individual people smutting it up is fine, but it's starting to feel like you have to duck out at times if your character isn't part of the monster polycule.

i hate to be a party pooper, but if you're not a fan of monsterfucking, ryslig really isn't the game for you. honestly you wouldn't be missing out on much anyway, as other anons pointed out it's barely even a horror game anymore, there's very little horror left in the stale setting.

the playerbase is also dominated by cringey morons that the rest of dwrp rightfully wants nothing to do with, so there's that too. sorry anon.

to add to what other anons have already said, luc's clique is obsessed with the idea of polycules in general to the point where they regularly rant about how much better it is than monogamy, to the point their fixation with it is kind of uncomfortable

I know we have moved away from calling smut games what they are to hide behind the coy term of "sex friendly", but still. It's monsterfucking: the game.

Used to be in Ryslig and no, the sex used to be on its own smut comm and you couldn't even use it for AC like normal threads it was really weird. If there are a lot more smutty prompts and the game feels more sex-focused that would be a recent choice/change. There were always people who were shipping in an obvious way but it wasn't really the sort of thing you noticed or found to be annoying unless you had a personal issue with the players or the ship.

i'm getting that creepy vibe of that game that a known wanker tried to make that was a c/p version of ryslig, but only for the sexies. town of something.

town of salem. a lot of players literally migrated to ryslig after it closed, so it's unsurprising to hear that ryslig is just monsterfucking nowadays

smut is still supposed to only be played in the locked smut comm. ofc that doesn't mean people don't play it elsewhere. it also still isn't accepted for main ac iirc, but might be accepted for bonus ac?? too lazy and uninterested to look it up tbh

nope, ryslig's not a sex/kink game, it's a body horror game that some people find kinky (and on the flip side some people chose because iirc it's the only DWRP game with monster transformations that hasn't been a sex/sex-friendly game).

it's definitely gotten smuttier as the years go by, but the setting is so broken and the events are so dull that changes are really the last interesting thing to play and the monsterfuckers jumped on that.

Shockingly Ryslig was a horror game at launch. It turned into SOL monsterfucking over several years.

bit confused by this question, since the smut takes place in a separate comm that you need to request access to. if you're seeing the smut, that means you submitted a request to see it. and if you requested access, you can look at the comm itself to see how often smut logs happen. (three times a year? four??? it's more in 2022 because of one specific player whose name i'm sure you can guess)

if you did not request access and only think it's focused on smut because of what you hear on plurk, you're following the wrong people. a very specific group of maybe 5 players is hyped about this orgy log and nobody else gives a SHIT. lot of people joke about monster junk but never actually play it out.

basically, don't worry anon, it's just an anomaly that can be avoided by not following the smut comm and that one clique.

it's a monster game, there will be monster fucking. Not a surprise. i dont personally participate in it, but people actively have their characters in romantic relationships and sex happens.
