daaaammmnnn. thats worse than it sounded. i didn't even know about the infomodding.

anyone have deets on the infomodding thing, actually? i don't keep up with the discord, what did they infomod?

It's even worse: Ed's player spends all their time whining about how much they hate discord and how left out it makes them feel, and then turns around and complains that they're overburdened by the plot they have and can't keep up.

Stede's player keeps talking about how they're too busy for plot and don't like horror and they shake and cry if anyone so much as points out that they're in a horror game with plot.

Note that they also both signed up for this month's plot-heavy horror event that had limited slots (and the Ed couldn't even post a simple sign-up comment without once again dropping how much they hate discord) despite constantly complaining and doing nothing with the plot they already have. Hopefully they weren't chosen.

god i fucking hate it when people who repeatedly admit they're too ~busy~ and ~overwhelmed~ in daily life still have the nerve to sign themselves up for limited slot events like this where they could very well end up rng'd over actually active players eager to thread and plot things

the lack of self-awareness is amazing

but then again if they were more self-aware to begin with maybe they wouldn't have apped to a plot-propelled horror game with their allergy to both plots and horror either smh

yeah, there are a few players who signed up that i think could've stepped back and given someone else a chance at plot, but at least they're active and engaging. the stede and ed are barely there and don't even like these plots so i have no idea why they did other than FOMO.

stede player is very possessive of their character and i think feels that he should be involved in all the things (tm) but then doesn't want to put the effort in to do that. as other anons have said they don't even like the themes of this game. they also seem to take it v personally when another player/character talks about leaving stede's crew. stede's crew that could be actively engaging with the meta plot in a fun way, but again that would require stede player, as their leader (bc we all know ed player won't) to think up literally anything off their own back that isn't a social mixer log. don't get me wrong those do have their functions but that's the extent of their engagement. between that, their shallow read on the character to begin with, refusal to actively engage in plot or respond to hooks when they're given/shut hooks down, whining on plurk and in discord, like why are they here are they even having fun?

my dude, i'd imagine at least a few of those characters were expecting to be banding together for some kind of mutiny or ship takeover at some point, since that's. literally what pirates do. sure it would probably fail, but there were expectations that there would at least be an attempt. especially with this fucking primo contract opportunity just sitting there on the table??

are they really so surprised that those characters would be unimpressed and bailing for more productive uses of their time after the fifth social mixer with 0 established ic plan to address the ship situation

even without getting into the obnoxious ooc handwringing, i just can't fathom what the player was expecting to icly happen here

not for lack of characters suggesting mutiny. ofc it would fail but who cares. maybe something good would have come from it. from what i understand that contract applies to stede bc its stede's contract, even if he isn't in physical possession of it (which he is not). If it were down to who physically had it at least it could be passed off to another player to use.

no kidding what a waste. re mutiny im def watching that thread w jenny and izzy. hope it goes somewhere and the rest of us could get in on it too.
