it's because they're completely incapable of admitting they've fucked up and accepting the consequences of their fuckups, and think if they can ~objectively~ prove they're entitled to access to other people's spaces, everyone will be so dazzled by their brilliance they'll welcome them with open arms. because who doesn't love a smug, droning nitpicker?
