i don't automatically assume someone named amanda is That Amanda who i specifically have beef with because there's hundreds of amandas in the world. ditto jen or john. people can also change their handles for non-wanky reasons.

i changed my socials a few years back because i was tired of my old usernames, but that means if i linked to my new plurk people would think that i'm a new person, not the old person they don't want to interact with.

i don't overthink it. ooc contact only means so much when there's tons of stories about people changing their identity for w/e reason, and if it's THAT important you never interact with this one person (even just to go "oh shit i tagged them on tfln by accident whoops") then an open rp venue like bakerstreet's not a good choice for you.
