seconding deets, i need to know if this tops the ancient jasper sockpuppet/multiple girlfriends drama

not for nothing, there's also the psychotic (as in, suffering from literal psychosis) tumblr user who accused mitski of sexually abusing then while being part of an elite human trafficking ring. the facts didn't line up and the accuser felt awful when their psychotic episode ended, but tumblr users still clung to it even months after it had been debunked.

+1 a huge drop train isn't a guaranteed game killer, but a lack of new blood to replace the dropped players is

someone feeling that paranoid about it has probably found other hobbies, lbr. dwrp is not the hobby for someone who needs to know for absolute sure that the faceless person on the other end of their pretendy funtimes isn't this specific weirdo. or they've found ways to know the identity of the people they play with.

DA and I remember too. It wasn't "the plot document" it was keeping access to the same comms and everything already there. I think it was supposed to make it easier/more attractive since everyone could keep access to their old threads. The old mod team had offered to pass the game to new mods before the game collapsed so it was going off of that. They asked people not to bring wank into the new game, but I guess that counts as begging people to be nice?

When former JGK players said that it wasn't a great idea or to give it more time, both reboot offers decided not to go through with it and quietly went away, but it's always funny how people bring up those interest checks like they were wanky and not working as intended.

as I recall one of the would-be jgk new mods was friends with the old ones and asked people to not badmouth the previous mods which... I mean, understandable if a person doesn't want to hear people slagging on their friends but their friends did just screw the pooch in a spectacular and stupid way so it seemed pretty silly and unreasonable to tell people who'd been freshly fucked over not to talk about it

I remember there was some kind of IC aftermath post that went around that people were playing on for months and a lot of talk about what happened in public after that in a lot of places and it never caused any issues.

there was also the intention of continuing with anonmods, and since the reboot was being proposed by gsai's buttbuddy no one trusted them to actually keep gsai's mitts out of it.

the circumstances that led to the game going to hell were not going to lead to players trusting a new team of mods coming in. anonmods are fine, but not with a jgk reboot.

gsai was a piece of shit and a catty mean girl, but abuser isn't the right word. a bully? definitely, without a doubt, we all saw what happened to that poor aerith player in jgk, and we remember how people who crossed gsai and co would get mysteriously get dropped here. but this is a level of melodrama that reads like spite knighting more than anything
