not really into vtubers but i read up on the drama and i have a probably unpopular take:

it is very kind of selen to step up and pay for projects out of pocket when nijisanji ghosted their artists, but i dont think she should have done it. it was not her obligation but her company’s, and they never asked her to do that. i get wanting to properly compensate artists because ghosting invoices is such a shitty scum move, but they can say that it was her own choice and money. and when you keep doing it even when they say they’re going to pay you back but never do until you’ve spent 200k of your own money for company projects… oof.

employers are not your friends. i just hope people can remember this. don’t invest a dime or nickel more than what they pay you because you can pour sweat, tears, personal time and money into them, only to have them fire you without blinking a eye and leaving you with nothing.

i’ve seen this happen to too many friends and myself too.

Anyway I read an article saying that the new season tries to be like the original season so I got curious and read some of what they’ve been up to. I fully regret, why did this show go off the rails? Was it really good once or was I just a blind teenager?
