most of dwrp is afab and maybe some of them just aren't comfortable writing f/f. there's your answer. it's fantasy, and m/m is more 'fantasy' coded for some people. so is reciprocative m/f. i've actively engaged in f/f irl, along with m/f, and i personally dislike writing f/f. m/f or m/m is more satisfying for me. it helps that i play mostly male characters, but i don't like playing f/f with my female ones. i couldn't tell you exactly why. i'm not phobic. i don't hate women or vaginas. i love writing m/f from the male side. i just like dicks involved in my pretendy rp.

Speaking as a lesbian i do write F/F but i am much pickier about what characters i write it with and only write it with people i know well. writing M/M provides an emotional and personal distance from my lived experience so its much more comfortable for me to play with strangers.

fr. potentially losing power for a few days is annoying but there's a reason houses in the ne all have fireplaces and everyone up here owns a generator. it's not even remotely comparable to your house literally burning down or being blown/swept away.

kay could be a big reason, tbh. they were my first interaction with f/f back before they transitioned and they effectively bullied me into doing it when i'd said no and with the character i was playing not being into it at all either. i buckled under a lot of pressure when i first got into rp because i didn't know the rules and i'd wandered in here on my own. so my first and only f/f experience was kay ignoring my preferences and playing it out and that's stuck with me.

i don't pick up canon f/f characters so i can avoid having to deal with it, yet you still get people insisting that you can bend the rules so they can get their play of preference. i've even recently been getting tagged by f players with my f character in memes even though i have m/f clearly stated in my preferences. my mind has yet to be changed.
