at one point I got really bored and made a spreadsheet of all the still-existing wankgate posts with the dates they were posted, total number of comments, and the average comments per day.

it didn't exactly show me anything i didn't already know, but the degree of slowdown was kind of fascinating (in that very 'tistic way) to see laid out in data.

i wish my boredom were ever this productive(? that might not be the right word here)

fun fact: the word kirishima uses when deku doesn't understand what bakugou's hinting at is the same word used when someone is rejected romantically. even as a joke, it's meant to have the vibes of some kind of proposal or confession that goes over deku's head. it's pretty funny!

When things went to shit between us, I was not totally without fault. There were things I did and said and ways I’d acted that I didn’t like. I had many of the same bad habits I’d see in you, one of which eventually came back to bite you in the ass in a big way.

So as hurt as I was, I wanted to be a better person. I wanted to change those ugly parts. And part of my mantra was that I wasn’t you. I was capable of change. I could fix those bad habits. When I caught myself thinking in a way that was similar to you, I nipped it in the bud.

I’m not going to pretend I don’t have shaky moments when that old me almost comes out. It’s a slow process to undo decades of bad behavior.

But it’s helped me deal with the pain I had from our fallout initially. Maybe I had to meet you, maybe I had to be hurt by you to kickstart this change. So, in spite of everything, thanks for the mirror.

productive is definitely not the word for it, i was at work and really didn't want to be.

but fun fact: we peaked at 1232 comments a day in October 2012 and as of right now, we're at 62 comments a day on the current post
