Was going to write a new peeve but really mine is just this one, accompanied by a bonus "oh I'm so behind I should tag out" bonus plurks that never actually result in tags. The sweep will happen any day now.

tbf most anons were on the side of the mods when a wanker outed the noctium mods, both here and on the ooc post.

can't say the same for jgk and at, which seemed deserved due to the shit they were pulling.

anon mods are an understandable response to a constant background radiation of shitty entitled players

being suspicious of anon mods is an understandable response to a checkered history of shitty boundary-abusing mods

yeah there are upsides and downsides to both styles of modding. i don't fault mods for wanting to be anonymous, and i don't fault players for not feeling comfortable apping to games run by anon mods. i've seen both done well and both done horribly. it's one of those things that i don't think will ever have a surefire answer to avoid drama.

i think the best answer is to just not apply to anon run games if you're not cool with that, myself. i have never understood people i know who apply to anon games when they're really uncomfortable not knowing who the mods are, who speculate and try to figure out who it is. just app somewhere else or make your own game and run it under your own name. or, you know, be respectful of the moderator team's preference at the game you app into.

i get pulling off the curtain if the moderator team is doing actually seriously shady shit along the lines of like, jgk or cdc or whatever, but most of the time when it's pulled off it's over petty shit like posts not happening exactly on time.

exactly. at the end of the day it's a matter of preference and that should be okay. if you're not comfortable with anon mods, don't app to a game run by some. likewise if you want to mod but don't want to deal with the level of entitlement from players who'll scrutinize everything you do with your free time that isn't being their personal fun dispenser.

never had issues with anon mods, never cared to know who they are if i apped to a game. can never understand people who join games with an element they don't like then start bitching when that element is present like anon mods.

if i dislike an aspect of the game i just never join. it sounds like unnecessary stress for yourself and for others if you're the type to endlessly bitch about how much you don't like that aspect.

nah, not really. the humor's going to always be about balls, the characters are going to jojofy themselves even more, and the plot will stay as wild and confusing as it is. it is not a canon you want to have braincells for.

personally i enjoy it but it does not really change the formula so you might as well abandon ship early.

yeah i can't really remember what games had anon mods that were outed due to wank/wankers beyond those 3. there might have been others, but tbh i haven't played in many anon modded games.

yeah, it improves a lot after current arc of the show. its after that the the weird sex stuff dies off and it makes things a lot better. it becomes much more focused on in-depth character development stuff. though the cast starts to get a bit bloated which means less time for individuals to get their fair share
