(Anonymous) 2024-11-13 06:57 pm (UTC)(link)Don't mean it as a challenge because I agree with your assessment. It's just that one of my friends, who is a long time fan, was raving about the lore after finishing but I'm not seeing it in early game. And it's hard look for more opinions on that without spoilers.
Re: DRAGON AGE
(Anonymous) 2024-11-13 08:41 pm (UTC)(link)it really depends. to me the lore feels tacked on, like they were rushed and forgot to add lore so crammed in some stuff mostly conveyed to the player via cutscenes. i'm neutral on it, my dragon age obsessed days are long over so it's not important to me to love or hate this one, but friends of mine who i'd say were equally into da before this have very split opinions which surprised me.
Re: DRAGON AGE
(Anonymous) 2024-11-13 10:05 pm (UTC)(link)if you liked anything else about the lore though
lol
no it's fucking terrible and I'd go as far to say insulting
Re: DRAGON AGE
(Anonymous) 2024-11-14 10:17 pm (UTC)(link)I'm a solid 75% of the way through and there are some good elf and dwarf bits, though I'd hardly call them lore heavy. Really, dwarf fans are going to be eating best in this game considering how this is the first Dragon Age game that actually gives a single shit about dwarves.
But at the same time, this game does things like "literally never even mention the Chantry" or "underplay how serious the Blight is" that make me wonder why they're choosing the aspects of the setting they're focusing on. Even the terrible Netflix animated show put focus on how Tevinter endorses slavery, why is that fact only barely mentioned in the main game?
