not a bait topic. one of our public games' playerbase are whining about AC requirements and getting butthurt that they can't make AC every month, however the players who have a flexible availability to roleplay can.

and the slow-taggers in the game are claiming fast-taggers (and boomerangers), overall, are shit writers because they have more free time to roleplay, and believe their characterization of their characters are terrible, thus not worth tagging to.

actually, this, i'd believe. the entitlement to have a spot/thing just because they want it without actually having to adhere to rules or laws around it extends well past rp in some people's lives. people like that are that kind of asshole everywhere. so because they don't have the time to rp they used to and they're not making ac, instead of taking accountability and either carving out specific time to play or dropping for a lower activity game or psls/memes, they insist that they have a god-given right to play bob and sam in the game they're in, even though it's been three weeks since they even looked at it and have no idea what anyone's doing. the pace of the game moves past them, meaning everyone else is a shit writer for going so fast because only people with no attention span can keep up with what's going on and it's not their fault, you guys. they're adults doing adult things.

the slow taggers in this particular game have been trying to unite and get the mods to change their AC policy (it's 15 comments) when the AC policy has been this way since it's been open, and some of these slow taggers have been in this game since then.

not to mention, some of these slow taggers are in other games and have multiple characters as well. instead of trying to force the mods to change their policy, they should evaluate themselves, and maybe drop a character or game or two. don't blame the other players who have different lifestyle than you, and have a better handle of RL and RP.

what makes this line of thought especially funny is that the fastest and most reliable taggers i know all have busy lives, they just know how to manage their time and treat rp like any other commitment.

the slowest taggers are always the people who SHOULD in theory have the most time to tag, and yet they always manage to fill that time with things that aren't tagging.

I used to be the former who graduated into the latter. I'd love to chalk it up to proper medication (ends up I have ADHD) but honestly the heaviest lifting are being done by therapy and college teaching me good habits. I have a certain time at night I spend on RP tags. It was like pulling teeth at first, as it always is when trying to create a new habit, but eventually my brain got used to it. "Okay, this time is RP time," and I get in the zone. Now I feel weird if I'm not spending that hour RPing.

yeah, carving out a certain amount of time to tag every night is what turned me into a consistent tagger. i don't always clear my inbox every single night but i do make progress on it so threads are always moving along and i never let tags sit for more than a day or two. it does wonders for keeping my drive up because i never let my inbox get to a point where i have so many tags that i'm overwhelmed, which is a claim i see a lot of people making for why they just can't do their tags.

it's always much easier to do something consistently and not let it build up to the point where doing it is going to be a massive project. yes, that goes for rp the same way it goes for cleaning, etc.

omg i am a slow tagger because i have young children who take up most of my time and so i only tag every few days. not because i am fucking staring at the tag writing a masterpiece! the tag actually takes five minutes when i do it .... i sure never assume that someone's slow tag is necessarily extra good, it doesn't actually take longer to do the tag. it just took longer to be ABLE to do the tag.
