this is why i don't think self-diagnosis is valid on its face and that online communities SHOULD gatekeep; don't require proof of a medical dx, but at least say people who have received one are the expectation because most of the self-dx crowd is just weird. they're not dealing with an actual disorder, they're not having to deal with the foreign language of school and employment and shit. but i wouldn't dare admit that anywhere in namespace. i am sympathetic to it being expensive, but if you need accommodations you need the diagnosis. and if you don't, you are not impaired.
