I used to be a big webcomic fan, and the reason I was hyperdefensive is that they all feel like this special little thing you've found. Even the biggest ones feel like you're in a secret club, so you get way more attached to them than you would to something of similar quality from the mainstream.

idk i also think girl genius is overhyped by its fans but still found the anon plurk kind of surprisingly aggro, if only because i haven't seen anyone talk about girl genius outside exactly one tumblr poll... in something like a decade?
