Does your idea involve one of two mods in a dying game?

Why, is it possible to see who's tracking what?

da

If you log into the mod journal, you can see what it's tracking. Mod journals are usually shared by all the mods. (Also in my game, the mod email forwards to all of ours.)

I was just coming back to check this thread and while the page was loading I realised 'oh yeah there's usually more than one mod.'

Thanks anyway.

If you want me to reject an apper and ban them from any further applications to the game, you're going to have to give me more information to go on than a vague "they're a wanker". And no, old anon comm threads don't count unless those threads have actual documentation of said wank.

(Anonymous) 2013-02-28 05:29 am (UTC)(link)
sometimes i wonder why anyone bothers modding. i try to make the game fun, but i can't make everyone happy. someone's always going to be bitching over something. complaining about one of the other mods, over events, over rules... i'm pretty sure it's just the same handful of people keeping the wank going, but it's still pretty discouraging, especially since you can't really do anything about it without coming off as a butthurt jerk.

if you're not happy, then find somewhere you will be happy, because you're bringing me down pretty effectively lately.

/whiny mod is taking the chance to whine

I've been trying for months, modanon. It's hard when games are so much alike.

(Anonymous) 2013-02-28 02:01 pm (UTC)(link)
i'm so sorry you're in that situation. i've modded around, and it took me a long while to find a game i'm comfortable modding in. i've been modding there four years now, and i regret nothing.

(Anonymous) 2013-02-28 02:48 pm (UTC)(link)
stop modding and you'll be happier.

sorry to say it, but it's true. i learned it after years of modding, and tbh i'm never going back. maybe all these asshole players will be sorry when there's no one left who wants to mod their games.

(Anonymous) 2013-02-28 11:26 pm (UTC)(link)
Asshole players are often ambitious. They'll step up, then get a taste of what they put you through. Then another asshole who thinks they can do better will take their place.

(Anonymous) 2013-03-01 01:49 pm (UTC)(link)
i think we're burning through assholes faster than we get new blood though

we'll eventually run out of people stupid enough to volunteer, and it's actually happening now in some places. i've been in a few games where no one wanted to step up at all

op

(Anonymous) 2013-03-02 02:13 am (UTC)(link)
trouble is, i don't want to quit modding. i like keeping the game running smoothly for the players who appreciate it. the game's been going pretty well for a long time and i take pride in that. i don't expect constant thanks and buttpats, but it would be nice to hear less from the assholes.

... though i guess asking people not to be assholes on the internet might be a bit much.

(Anonymous) 2013-02-28 11:32 pm (UTC)(link)
Modding almost completely killed my desire to RP at all. I'm only just recovering after a few months of dropping my whiny ass players to do shit themselves. Which I'd like to note they haven't.

Oh man, I hate that "I just got back from hiatus, give me a pony!" shit. And it's always after the fact* with these snowflakes. They're never the ones who come to you ahead of the hiatus and ask if they can have the character off doing something cool or plot relevant while they're away. (And in my experience, the ones who bring it up ahead of time are never the ones who whine or PA-drop if they're told no.)

*Complaint about timing waived if it's an unforeseen emergency hiatus, obviously.

sounded like a player's sparkleypoo OC in a game I once modded threw shitfits when he wanted to keep slapping on powers since its the only way he could conceive of making her interesting.

"They won't play out my non-canon ship" is not and will never be a reason for the mods to give someone a warning for being OOC, what the fuck.
