So while we're still stuck on this dumb topic, has racism actually happened in RP? I don't mean with muns, but the actual characters.

I had a character who was IC-ly called a racial slur. It was historically accurate for the characters involved and I thought it played out really well in terms of negative CR.
i've played huey from the boondocks, and people mistook black panther-style radicalism for racism so
I actually am in a PSL right now where my black character is in the 1960's. We play with race fairly regularly, and I feel like it strengthens me as a writer and I actually really like exploring it with other muns who will be respectful of my comfort level, historical accuracy, and staying IC. Recently got to play out a fun scene where someone said something insulting at a group dinner, my character put up with it to keep the peace, and then got to be angry and frustrated to his close CR later and dig into how they hadn't examined their white privilege.
I was also in a game where another black character got to have a few fun, and a few not-so-fun, conversations about race. Fun was always playing with other muns who were conscious of each others' comfort and savvy about racial issues, not-so-fun was when it was a bunch of players being OOCly dense and often inadvertently racist.
Strangely, I have been in five different games where I play the only black character for at least some period of time.

there's a character i'd really love to play who's canonly a racist, sexist bigot. he's never going to be played outside of museboxes and psls for that exact reason, sadly. i'm too wary of sjw shit and ic/ooc confusion.
I played an Indian character who's experienced some friction in games, but it was all IC. The mun who started it even PMed me first to make sure it was cool with me.

I've played a xenophobe in one game and a misogynist in another. The scary thing was that nobody seemed to realize my misogynist character was a misogynist. I kept getting compliments on how charming he was.
