When somebody you hate apps into a game you really wanted to join and apps a castmate of the character you wanted to app on top of it. Sucks, because I really liked the game otherwise.
When somebody you hate, and who you know hates you, starts talking about apping in to a game you're already in, not just as a castmate, but as 1/3 of your OT3.
Bonus points when the player of the other 1/3 of the OT3 hates the apper too.
Shit man, that sucks. My only advice is to wait and see and if the game allows app challenges and if they reserve/app or anything get another friend to challenge their app. Shitty thing to do, but will save you headache in the long run.
would mods reject people for current players having personal beef about them and not being actually wanky and/or harmful though? I guess it would depend on the mods and what the person they disliked was guilty of.
Depends on the wank, I suppose? I know different games have different policies on that sort of thing, but if the prospective castmate is a known wanker, I think the mods would be willing to consider not letting them in.
when I modded games previously, I would ask the player to app into a different cast in that kind of situation, and they would be on my list of "players to watch out for"
if a person is apping close canonmates to players they are aware have a problem with them, that's shit stirring and creating a toxic environment
now if that player doesn't even know there's a problem, it's something I'd try to mediate first, but if it's a known issue then the player apping in is knowingly causing trouble and that's not an attitude I'd want in my game
even if the mods of the game wouldn't take direct action, they would probably appreciate knowing that they are getting a player who has that attitude
I have. It depends on the personal issues and whether they sound likely to repeat themselves. If someone bullied two players of mine out of a game, for example, and they both came to me about it, that would be grounds for me to not want them in my game.
Even if it's a personal situation, depending on the reason for the issues, the mods may still not let them apply, especially when it's two prospective castmates.
Contact the player. Be civil. Say "please don't app into this game with this castmate of mine, I'm uncomfortable playing with you" or something along those lines.
Hopefully they'll take it gracefully, but even if they don't and they throw a hissy fit, they'll either not app (then mission accomplished), or insist on still apping to spite you then you'll have something concrete to show the mods that isn't "waahhh but I don't LIKE him/her!"
Well, if they're a well-known wanker, then go ahead and warn the mods! Don't feel bad about it, either, esp. if you've got deets (make sure to provide them).
