Lol at that Saber played as ~bigender~

Hey shitty RPers, newsflash: Crossdressing doesn't make anyone trans/bigender/genderqueer. The character in canon very much identifies herself as female. This is made clear in no uncertain terms.

Why can't people like that play OCs instead of contradicting canon like this?

+1

I WTFed right out there when I saw that shit

at least the issue has been brought to the mods and they're in the middle of dealing with it and making up for their oversight.

(Anonymous) 2013-04-16 01:13 am (UTC)(link)
it has? how do you know?

(Anonymous) 2013-04-16 01:46 am (UTC)(link)
Yes, it has. Myself and another player put together some complaints and brought them to the mods today.

Glad to hear it, I was fussing on how to bring this nonsense to the mods myself. It's bugging me out a lot.

Did you see how the player treats the issue in general on their plurk? Not classy, that.

I don't have them on Plurk, but it's been mentioned to me. I decided not to pass judgment since I didn't have the full context of the conversation, though.

(Anonymous) 2013-04-16 05:33 am (UTC)(link)
what did they say?

(Anonymous) 2013-04-16 01:46 am (UTC)(link)
there are already so many things that bug me about that saber

why is she introducing herself as arthur when her name is arturia? why is she not reacting to kirei at all?

(Anonymous) 2013-04-16 04:11 am (UTC)(link)
It sounds like the player isn't even considering F/SN as part of canon. the fuck.

here is the perfect opportunity

(i would but i'm not in the game, just a fan of the canon who saw this)

so far he seemed to ignore the critique or misunderstood why people are upset about it.

No pastes, but you haven't missed much. The original plurk was that "what do you like/dislike about my RPing?" meme and when no one replied with buttpats, he started crying for crit, too.

Crit was delivered, cue the flood of "THIS IS UNFAIR. I'M A REASONABLE PERSON!!!!! ARE THEY LECTURING ME?!" and then "WHY DID SOMEONE GO TO THE MODS?!"

If you're on their plurklist I'd like to hear more, since that sounds pretty wanky.

Unfortunately I'm not on his plurk, I just caught most of his antics before he locked his account.

Asked for crit, got crit, seemed to go well with it. Even asked how to properly respond to anon crit.

Made a plurk that had about 3 comments in astonishment to the lines of "wait am I being lectured on gender?". All 3 comments responded "yes".

That's the last I saw. Good to see this has stirred out into a pointless cyclone as I thought it would. Shine on, crazy diamonds, you all make for the best kind of popcorn entertainment.

Is it true that at least one of their castmates has dropped specifically because of this bullshit?

(Anonymous) 2013-04-18 01:17 am (UTC)(link)
As the castmate that dropped (which isn't hard to figure out if people looked at the drop page), I had a couple of other reasons (game wasn't exactly clicking with me, I have notorious trouble with slice of life), but this was just what cemented the decision. I don't have time to deal with a player projecting their issues through a character that mine would have had to deal with specifically (as at the time, they would have been the only other castmate to have made an appearance in the sequel I played from).

I was one of the players that did compile a list of canon examples (specifically in Fate/Zero since that's where they are taking her from) to pass on to the mods. That's as much as I care for this business since I play Saber in another game and don't want to be seen as one of those players.
