If there's wank and you ban someone, you better fucking explain the reason for a ban. Let the player base know what it is you don't allow in your game. And if you're making a shitty decision, have the ballsack to own up to it.
Some things are personal and should be skirted around. You should give enough information that players know that that's why they're not getting everything, but players are not owed every single detail of every decision you make.
At the end of the day, it's just a game and pleasing your players doesn't trump other players' personal lives.
If it's personal/interpersonal reasons, state that clearly. You don't have to go into details (even if wankgate will spend the next post and a half trying to play detective) but for fuck's sake, say something so people know that the mods are clear and certain in their reasoning.
