ok first off, that isn't what headcanon means as nailed in by a ton of replies in this thread; secondly, if you can't see why projecting onto a fictional character that isn't even trans but pretending they are trans in order to feel better about yourself is unhealthy then i'm not sure there's any point in explaining it to you.
yeah this is definite concern trolling. this isn't about their health, it's about not wanting to see something in fandom you don't like. if people need to imagine the character is trans (when there's more room to interpret that, it's not like they picked a random character like ishimaru) to help them feel better about the shitty tropes and transphobia they experience, that's not really that unhealthy.
there isn't any room for interpretation because it's explained that chihiro is male (and intended to come out as such). if they want to latch onto and infantalize an actual trans character, they can go read wandering son.
