the OCs bore me to tears

don't we only have one?

thought we had more but echoing op fun party girl OC is about as much fun as watching paint dry

most of the les mis cast bores me to tears

i hate that i can't tell if it's because of the players or it's just the canon

it's the cast. i play with another cast also, and they're incredibly dynamic. these guys are so bland it's painful.

All of them? It's such a large cast! That's disappointing...

I think our Marius and Javert are pretty good. Our Gavroche would be better if they were actually around.

Our Javert and Marius plus one or two others are pitch perfect! The problem is the barricade boys are either never around or only interested in slice of life

which cast is this? it's so hard to find decent amis

it's at a smaller game that seems to be under wg's radar and i'm not too keen on directing attention to it, sorry.

the barricade boys might as well be ocs and poorly created ocs at that. all the players seem to be more concerned about their "feels" than playing an interesting character.

I think that part of it is to do with the characters themselves. I enjoyed them in the context of the story, but they're a two-dimensional bunch of people. Victor Hugo never fleshed them out beyond their function as revolutionaries in the story. They each have a paragraph regarding their background and personalities, but they are not very deep personalities. They lack dimension.

that said aside, stronger players could do a lot more with that paragraph of 'stuff' so ymmv

i realize they aren't extremely fleshed out in the books. they have to go into oc territory already when they're played and i get that but it's such boring oc territory. i was hoping the players would give them dimension and deep personalities and make me give two craps that they die.

so far they might as well set up a soup kitchen or a bakery, adopt a kitten, walk around in shojo sparkles, and sit around stroking one another all night. actually three of those things might be kind of interesting to read.

I absolutely agree with you that stronger players could do a lot more with 'that paragraph of stuff' as you put it. I've seen much better Amis players around who really give these characters life and breath beyond what Hugo has provided.

That's all Mandy ever does. She needs to get some serious crit on her tagging habits and how she leaves almost nothing to work with.

I agree 100%. She's incredibly boring to tag with.
