My only complaint is that it's so fucking long. I started reading from the start when the anime aired and I'm still only three parts in. My life is busy so I'm kind of a slow reader.

But cool fandom, idk who I would rp (because I doubt I could match the characters badassey) but I have the username duwang if anybody wants to play from part 4.

it is awfully long, but bear with it anon! it picks up. Part 3 tends to be a drag because it's very fight-of-the-week, but part 4 is very refreshing and well-paced.

Part 3 is one of the most popular parts pretty much because it's very much set up like a TV anime, imo. Also agreeing that part 4 is good. The retranslation is really well done (though it's still ongoing), but I've heard that a lot of people aren't into part 4 because of how slice-of-life it gets sometimes. I thought it was nice.

thanks!

I like at least that it's broken up into parts so if I stop for a while after finishing a part I don't get lost when going back to it.

I would not say Part 4 is well paced. A good chunk of the beginning just feels like "lets be dumbasses and also follow Jotaro around" and it seems to meander for quite awhile before actually getting to the plot.

I agree with you, but compared to part 3? As a whole part 4 is one of the better story arcs imho. It does follow the same fight-of-the-week style of part 3 initially, but it feels a lot less monotonous and stale. There's some actual down-time in between the fights, something part 3 lacked. Compared to other parts, I would still consider it fairly well-paced. Part 7 is by far the best in terms of pacing, and part 2 is a close second although it's fairly short.

This I can agree with, though I think my fondness for part 4 is all for the wrong, duwang-related reasons. I'll have to reassess my opinion on it once those Quebecois stoners (ha ha, I love those guys, actually) finish the retranslation. Same with Part 5.

well, it is a beautiful duwang. I had to put up with glorious duwang back in the day and tbh I miss it a little. It was amusing if nothing else. The retranslation is pretty far along! The retranslation of part 5 is moving along at a glacial pace, but we're fortunate someone cares enough to retranslate the "worst" (not imo but most seem to be of that opinion) segment of the story.
