Can I whine about something kind of small that just really bugs me? Kally puts a polyvore outfit with everything. That's not what bothers me but the fact that every one adds up to thousands of dollars. Every one. Did she come into Ariel with her whole closet? Kally does know that Cordelia only has a couple hundred bucks. Right.

That doesn't bother me, because I'm guilty of it too. I don't really look at prices of the items I choose on polyvore.

But also, when I'm putting together a set for a character in a jamjar? I assume that a Oscar de la Renta isn't actually an Oscar de la Renta, you know? I just use them as reference images.

I do the same, too. I just assume it as a rough reference rather than thinking my character has some super expensive classy designer shit in their closet. it's more likely the knock-off at the discount store.

True. But a two thousand dollar designer dress is still at least a four or five hundred dollar no name dress. Not to mention the bags and jewelery. I don't mind an expensive piece every now and then but she does it every single time.

I did say it was a small thing that bugged me. I don't think it's worth wank. Just one little thing about her that annoys me. Others have already mentioned her boring writing and the terrible quality of her smut. I didn't see the need to repeat that.

She was singled out because she has no idea how to write good smut. She was singled out initially for her inability to understand how something as simple as phone sex should work. Her polyvore habits aren't the focus of this. They're just a fringe annoyance. Anon wasn't talking about the party specifically. I took a quick look back through the polyvore that link goes to and Cordelia's wardrobe is worth $25,000 (more or less I didn't use a calculator).

I personally don't give a shit but I can see how that might annoy someone. It's like when Gistas tried to make anon posts even though it wasn't possible. I don't care if anyone can or can't post anon but for people working within the confines of the rules it could bug them. Maybe there are people imagining their characters being forced to live with the limited funds they have and seeing others spending hypothetical money like water annoys them.

If everyone in every game is that bad then it will probably come up at some point when the spotlight is focused on them for terrible writing like it had been with Cordelia. I would be on your side if she were only being wanked on for stupid polyvore crap. but she's not. She's being wanked on for some other things that people have every right to be pissed about.

I saw her phone sex post before she deleted it and it was terrible. Truly awful. Not just badly written but badly planned. It tried to be edgy and failed. I hate that. You don't do your phone sex job in a crowded place where other people are talking all around you. You don't hang up on your client before he can come so you can flirt with a homeless man. You don't do a lot of stupid shit Cordelia has done. That is what she's being wanked on for. The polyvore side of things is just a tiny drop in the bucket for some people.

The phonesex was bad but the smut with Jefferson wasn't so I'm willing to give the benefit of the doubt, especially since rys apparently has something against her over other games.

Poking my head in here cause why not. The log with Jefferson was good because of Jefferson. Their smut is usually fantastic with the right partner. The tags from Cordelia bring the whole thing down to about average imo.

Not arguing. Tempest is a great writer, Kally is just average.

Point stands that there's a lot of average players in the game and this thread would probably be a lot shorter if Rys didn't have a hateboner for Kally.

Rys definitely had a hand in making this thread longer than it had to be. Definitely. It's not just her though cause I know of at least four people who really don't like Kally and her writing. And in a game this size there must be at least a few more. I don't know half the people here well enough to talk about stuff like that.

If you look at the Jefferson/Cordelia thread and then look at some of Tempest's other stuff like the one with Jefferson/Natasha during the glitch event (which is still one of my favorites of hers) the difference is night and day.

When you pair Jefferson with someone badly written like Cordelia you still get a decent log because it evens out. Doesn't make that bad writer any better.

It's not that it was public. It's that it was badly done. Doing that while shopping means that the person on the other end of the line can hear everyone else who's shopping talking around her. When she purchases something she has to take her attention away from them to access her money. And she hung up on the guy before he could come so she could flirt with a hobo.

Okay, Kally has outright said in ooc comments that Cordelia's a bad actress who thinks she's good. She said on her plurk weeks ago "she's going to be the worst sex line operator."

I'm not sure why everyone is critiquing it like its supposed to be an example of well written smut, since her other posts are nothing like that. Bad acting and not caring about hanging up on someone in the middle of a conversation is pretty much in character for Cordelia.

Calm your tits down. Not everyone plays characters like they're perfect.

So these just look like examples of mediocre writing.

I know there was all the phone sex shit, but considering how many godawful writers we have in the game, I think there are better threads to stalk for horrors.

So here's the deal. I've played with Kally in more than one game and she's not a bad writer. She's also a very sweet person ooc so she will always have her friends who line up to play with her.

But what she IS bad at is writing smut...which is unfortunate in a smut game. Some of her narratives for other things will be great, but it's like she just gives up when she's writing sex scenes (especially with maintaining Cordelia's voice, which is too bad since Joss Whedon characters are so distinctive).

I've read everything she's posted in CoA and she's a terrible writer. Her Cordelia voice is completely unrecognizable.

I'm not in Ariel but I've played with Kally in the past. The horrors are coming. She seems incredibly nice at the start. She may even be nice at the start but it will go downhill. She ends up too invested in her characters and she is incredibly emotionally needy. You might not even realize how much she takes out of you until you take a step back.

When you add all that to the fact that her writing is awkward at best it becomes really not worth it.
