and i wasn't commenting on that?? i was just saying the opinions in the plurk are gross, regardless of the orientations of the people who hold them. just because leafy was a dismissive bitch about the whole thing doesn't mean her opinion is less valid, particularly in that she's not the only one who thinks that way.
Nobody seemed to actually be talking about heterophobia beyond thinking that someone who LITERALLY CAME RIGHT OUT AND CLAIMED TO BE HETEROPHOBIC was being ridiculous and probably not a great person. You can find the whole concept of heterophobia gross/objectionable without actually thinking that straight people are oppressed.
Straight people aren't discriminated against in the slightest but I still wouldn't want to hang out with anybody who hated a large group of people based solely on their sexuality.

fucking THANK YOU. I'd never dream of calling the discrimination card due to being straight, but it doesn't mean I have to sit back and be a doormat and like it if someone proudly goes around saying they're heterophobic. Especially if they're doing so while having played nice with me and other straight people online. It's just hypocritical, and I don't like hypocrites.
Sometimes I think we need to sit down and have a frank discussion about "valid opinions". Everyone is entitled to their opinion, and they're allowed to express that opinion no matter what it is. But that doesn't mean other people have to like it or even respect what they say simply because they say it.
As far as I could see in that pastebin, people were disagreeing with leafy's opinion but they didn't demand she change her opinion or else never speak of it again. They just reacted to it and their reaction was to stay away from her.
