Because mods are supposed to be emotionless professional robots who don't have to be treated with basic respect. You know, just like how you're free to shit on waitresses and retail drones as much as you want because ~the customer is always right,~ amirite?
As if more proof was needed that dwrp is full of spoiled upper/middle class white girls.
Stop being butthurt. Saying "the mods..." in these cases is the direct opposite of treating a waitress/retail 'drone' like shit. It's basic politeness that most people get taught since childhood.
It's polite because it is not accusatory to an individual and allows the responsible person to shift some blame. I will always use it, because I value mods and don't want to come across as ~attacking them~ when they did something wrong.
My boss does this very thing for the same reason. If a single QA person fucks up, he doesn't say "QA MEMBER X DID THIS" but instead "this or that slipped past QA, oops"
It's good for morale.
PS: I tip more than I should, and usually get very surprised waiters/waitresses due to it. Because I don't treat people like shit,
