Y'know, the more I read over her application, the more weird it seems... Do characters have a "canon point," as such? I know it's hard for incomplete canons, but for ones that are complete. I know Mytho was never exactly pushy, but her descriptions seem to skim over the actual prince and focus on the limp noodle he was at the beginning of the story, or else she's letting the noodle color the prince too much...

Honestly, when she's in again, I think I will crit her and see what happens.

Actually, is it kosher to go to mods about concerns with characterization, even if one uses a sock? I know it can be for behavior. We've seen how she responds to crit, really, so there might not be much point. I don't know if any of the mods are familiar with the canon, so maybe they just wouldn't pick up on how it seems off, rather than just bland.

I've seen a lot of applications get rejected because people already in the game went to the mods and pointed out precisely the ways in which the app sucked. You can give it a shot if you feel strongly enough about it.

Well, I'm not in the game yet (though I was toying with applying from a different magical girl-esque canon and would've loved CR with decent Tutu characters), so I don't know if I'd have enough credibility. But it might still be worth a shot, as long as it's not some big faux pas.

as someone who had the misfortune to have to play with her mytho before, she never stops playing him like he's memoryless. the only evidence you really need of how ooc she is is that one roleplaysecrets thread where she refers to his and rue's kiss as having "all the passion of a kumquat".

I've actually typed up a lot of crit to send to the mods. But then I realized that, while it's boring and silly, there's technically no reason why she CAN'T play him from that canon point... I guess?

At the same time, it doesn't make sense. If he's reincarnate from a remnant of a world, it makes sense it'd have been picked up from the latest point we saw the world at, at the very earliest.

If he's a reincarnate then he shouldn't be played as 'memoryless' regardless.

so this confuses me, too. like, is she trying to give him his memories of being a prince, of being who he was, while also playing him as passive as he was while heartless?

Yeah, I figured, sorry. I meant more like, if we follow this to its logical conclusion, it kind of sounds like the characters should be from the place we've last seen them, sort of? As in, not randomly reincarnated from a point before the end of the story unless the canon is incomplete.

But the fact that there are incomplete canons involved make this difficult to argue against within the game, and so we're left with a boring as tar Mytho.

No, the character doesn't have to be similar to their last appearance. You can go hog wild with their STE self as long as you the mods find your reasoning adequate.

there's no canon points, but she technically could only echo in stuff from the beginning of the series, I guess. She literally said on plurk that she felt the point of Mytho's character was "that he's bland" so I don't think she has any interest in any other point of canon besides when he's emotionless.

it's frustrating because I've been toying with the idea of apping Ahiru but I just can't get into Fran's Mytho so I doubt I ever will.

ugh same here. i wanted to app rue since there's a lot of potential for breaking the cutie all over again but that's not going to happen now after i saw fran's take on mytho's relationship with her.

now i'm depressed i'll never see a full tutu cast at a game for me to stalk or possibly join god fucking damn fran
