never thought i'd be happy playing the fandom bicycle.

though i do wish there were more ladies, i'm a little burned out on the sausage fest.

YES god this

i'm just as open to m/f but it's like once you do an m/m thread you're branded forever as only wanting to play m/m

so really f players are just shooting themselves in both feet and they only have themselves to blame

on the one hand, yeah, it's kind of shooting ourselves in the foot. on the other hand, a lot of people say they're ota but are only really interested in playing m/m or even their one preferred ship, so we have reason to be hesitant if we've only ever seen you play m/m.

then that's your fault, not mine. i'm not keeping a running tally of who i play with and the assumption that ota doesn't mean ota is purely on you.

meme players are really dumb about this honestly

i play out a hell of a lot of m/f in psls and the sex game i'm in but on memes i never get tags from female characters because of this assumption

Or on memes i get saddled with weirdly possessive players behind the wheel

I'll take female cockhops all day erryday because my guy also loves the ladies and it's fun tagging, but goddamnit don't act like i'm suddenly always and forever yours now just because our characters had sex

better yet don't start harassing other players of female characters who tag me either

I assume this, because about the five hundredth, maybe the five hundred and first time I tagged someone who was also playing m/m who said they were OTA and got a lackluster, disinterested, going through the motions response for the sake of looking like they weren't just in it for the m/m I gave up trying. The ninth or tenth time I was trying to build up CR with a character in a game who also had m/m sex but was het in canon and was played with at least a token interest in women, only to watch the player gush excitedly on their Plurk about how they were setting up their guy with their (male) canon enemy or best friend with crickets about the rest of their CR and watched them gleefully boomerang their male CR while the girls got maybe a dull, uninspired tag every other week, I gave up trying.

People who play m/m are largely much more mostly interested in m/m. This has been proven by vast, repeated experience on my part and has been confirmed in conversations with almost everyone else I know who plays het female characters. Maybe there are people who don't fit this mold? I play with a few of them pretty regularly. But they are a small minority.

I'm not interested in having my tags be grudgingly tolerated, I'm not interested in my character being someone's "RP Beard" that they can point to and go "but look, my guy dated this girl that one time (and I only responded three times, once every other week, and dropped the log due to disinterest before we got past the introductions) so I'm TOTALLY not going against his demonstrated interest in women in canon!"

I don't blame people for liking m/m. A preference is a preference. I don't really care much for playing f/f, so when I put up my preferences, it's for m/f and I'm sure people see that and think "cockhop". I don't think that people should be forced to go out of their way to play out scenes they have little to no interest in just to indulge someone else's preferences. But enough people lie about their preference that it shouldn't be shocking that some people recognize it as being a lie a lot of the time so they just don't bother.

You sound absurdly entitled and kind of creepy tbh. Why is it required for anyone who plays m/f to ~~prove~~ they really really really like m/f by prioritizing YOUR CR and your threads over anyone else's? I mean do you not see that it's pretty damn ridiculous of you to get buttmad because someone gushes about threads that aren't yours enough? This kind of demanding to be the other player's center of attention at all times is offputting as fuck.

I would hold a player like you at arms' length too and I play a ton more m/f than m/m. Has it occurred to you that maybe it's not that they secretly hate all m/f and only curr about yaoi, but it's because of YOU?

someone gushes about threads that aren't yours too much rather

Apparently your eyes glazed over and you stopped reading before the last paragraph. It doesn't surprise me, a lot of people seem to lack the ability to read even though it's writing reading-based hobby.

I'm not pissed that people enjoy their m/m CR more, but nice putting words in my mouth. I don't throw baby tantrums or flail around on my Plurk that no one looooves me and send PMs harassing people about "I can see your tag counts, you hate me, abloo bloo!"

What I am is realistic about it. Why are YOU entitled to having me keep tossing my characters at a brick wall looking for the shiny rare diamonds that really mean OTA when almost no one else does?
