i'd rather have two monster posts in two weeks than another "here eat some halloween shaped cookies" or "zombies oh my!" post. especially when the monster posts are in no way actually alike aside from the potential for getting hurt factor.
if you don't want to get in on it, don't. no one is forcing you.
They are exactly the same if your character doesn't know the guy which is most of that game. More spooky stuff is fine - not when it's meant to indulge the player running it instead of being fun for everyone.
