The worst thing about this is the idea that the rape victim didn't matter and t was all so Haruto could go through ~boy angst~ about how ~that wasn't him~ was almost ripped entirely from a shit robot anime from the 80s called Hades Project Zeorymer.
in Zeorymer, there was a similar thing going on where the lead guy was "taken over" but the personality of the dude who made the robot, who turns out to be a horrible rapist and murderer that wants to take over the world. and after the lead girl of Zeorymer is raped by this asshole, and after Masato, the lead guy, "wins the fight for control" he angst and goes on and on about his guilt, begging the girl to shoot him and shit. and the girl doesn't go through with it and seems to writes shit off until the lead guy goes off in the robot with the girl to go do group suicide with the other (female) antagonist who was only evil/trying to rule the world because she was also a clone of the evil rapist/murderer guy.
Not saying the scene in Valvrave was as badly handled because it wasn't, as Zeorymer's writer was a real life sexist who went into writing it with an agenda, but Valvrave is airing recently, Zeorymer was from the 80s so the sexist bullshit could be explained by it being "the culture at the time". ANd yet, in 2013 they're still doing it in Valvrave.
