dude, I'd much rather have confident people on my timeline (even if the confidence is "unwarranted" by your personal standards) than people crying 24/7 about how they're garbage shit trash and will be alone forever because they can't do anything [crying emote] [deadcat]
there's way too much "funny" self-deprecation in rp culture. and, hell, internet culture in general. most popular text posts on tumblr are about how the person who typed it can't pass a test, succeed in a relationship, be around human beings in a social setting without bursting into hives ..... at best this kind of thing is a thinly-veiled request for asspats, and at worst it reveals a really unhealthy mindset. I'd like to see more confidence from the people I talk to online. arrogance, no, but confidence, yes
