I think the argument is actually that the rule as it is discourages buildup, since all the comments, including non-smut leadup ones, have to have been made in that time period. So people are feeling rushed to turn their threads into smut, especially since we've had a bit of a revolving door of drops and apps so it's hard to say if a given thread will make it.

But don't quote me on any of that. I haven't been having any problems, so this is just what I've been able to get out of the comments and a few things I've seen on Plurk.

that's what i got out of the comments, too, but i still don't understand why that build-up is taking over two months, especially considering a lot of people in the game are pretty lax about their prose (not a complaint/criticism, just an observation). i could see maybe if the smut ac requirement was every single month, but it isn't. two months seems really generous. i'm a slow tagger, too, but i've done three or four full smut logs over the past two months, and my character isn't particularly outgoing or all that thrilled about the whole sleeping with strangers thing.

Yeah, I can't really argue with that. Two months is a long time, even for a slow tagger, and if you're tagging back once a day, or even once every two days, you should be able to set the scene and get to the meat of it well before that time is up. Unless all your threads are getting dropped or something, but in that case I'm sure the mods would be lenient. They seem pretty reasonable.

Also if all your threads are getting dropped you should probably find different people to play with. I've had no trouble tagging for weeks on end with some of these people.

yeah, ditto. i'm hoping that a lot of it is just confusion over the whole "smut ac is due in april" announcement that made the march appers think they only had one month, but...

if it's not that type of confusion and people really are trying to clamor for a three-month leniency, i really hope the mods put their foot down on it and say no, because two months really is plenty.

+1

i was really surprised to see this complaint. i thought two months for ac was incredibly reasonable and easy to work with. i'm a slow tagger too and my character also needs build-up to get things going, but two months is definitely enough time to do it. making it three months will just encourage people to move at a more glacial pace, i think. i really hope the mods don't budge on this one.

i agree people might need to rethink their character choice, work with different players for ac, or think about whether the game speed meshes with their schedule. there's nothing wrong with a game not fitting the player or character well. it's a little disappointing, but it happens to the best of us.
