even if you don't think shiori was abusive, she was beyond a shadow of a doubt a really nasty person. in her black rose episode, shiori tells juri that she likes the way juri looks when she's in pain right before pulling the sword out of her chest and at the end of it when utena makes a comment about shiori possible changing as a person, anthy's just like "nah she's exactly the same tbh".
she's not a 1-dimensional evil bitch but she's still toxic.
i'll give you that shiori is toxic as hell, but when she said that stuff before pulling juri's sword she was under the influence of the black rose.
i just find it interesting that she's the only black rose duellist that anyone in fandom treats as accountable for her actions AS a black rose duellist. wakaba actively tried to murder anthy and utena when she was a duellist and literally nobody holds her responsible for that (including myself, but in my case i don't hold ANY black rose duellists responsible; i just can't help noticing a double standard).
and before anyone points out that shiori didn't need the black rose's influence to be a shitty person: neither did keiko sonoda.
that's the thing w/ utena, a lot of it is up for interpretation. shiori in her black rose appeared to be a lot nastier than most of the other duelists in my eyes, but i can see why you disagree. even then, it's not like that's the only bad thing about her. so agree to disagree igss?
and well yeah ofc keiko's not a particularly nice person. she hangs w/ nanami after all.
