If I had to say anything, it would just be that it's funny, but inappropriate. The joke names are pretty amusing and I got a solid laugh from some of them, but it does make it harder to follow and doesn't look very professional.
I don't think mods are under an obligation to look professional all the time and honestly, I thought it was funny at first. It was just poking a bit of fun at people who didn't put their canon in the subject line of their taken comment.
...But if you know you're so swamped that it's going to take you over a week to clean up your silly joke names, it might not be the best time for them. I can definitely see people getting confused or turned off of the game if they're left for too long.
you know i just thought of something for a compromise.
how about the mods list the canon names normally and then just have hovertext for all the joke stuff?
that way, people passing through to glance at the list aren't immediately turned off, and everyone else can still have their gigglefest about the joke names!
i'm not actually in the game, either, i'm the anon above who had the friend trying to enable them into the game. but i'm glad it sounds like a good idea!
this sounds like a great compromise between fun and readable (and ia, mods shouldn't *have* to be all professionalism all the time in something they do in their free time)
