I know I'm alone in this, but I find it significantly easier to respond to generic starters rather than specific starters. Because everytime someone writes a specific starter, it's always like "Character is walking along, falls and screams in pain"(except better). Once one person responds to that specific thing, it's used up. Except eight different people will respond to it in separate threads.
I'm on the other side of this, I think it's so frustrating when someone won't tag a starter because it's somehow "used up" when someone else got to it first. This is rp, it's not that serious and timelines are not sacred. Maybe I'm alone in this, but I just do not give two shits about that kind of continuity; come at me because I want to play with everyone.
use your brain, anon. like i said, i'm selfish. i don't want to share the limelight with anyone, i want the scene to be all about me and my character and maybe the other character a little bit
y'know, two's company, three's a crowd, that whole thing
Second fiddle? I mean I guess if you're on a meme and someone else who plays the same character as you tagged a starter, okay, I get that. But how does that make you a second fiddle in a game?
It depends on what it is, but if it's like, "My character just broker their leg and is lying there on the ground," once one person responds, then yes it is used up. Anyone else responding either comes at the same time... at which point it only makes sense to multilog... or they're basically coming to an empty scene because the first person presumably took the other broken leg character to care.
Unless they just left them there, but no one knows that until the thread is finished. Timelines are't sacred, but I like it to make some sense.
I agree with you, but I actually have had people PM me to tell me they couldn't reasonably see answering my character because the other thread had already happened, and I kind of just shrugged and we ended up not tagging at all.
