and, tbh, i really don't think the mods got asked to remove the usernames. i think they just didn't realize they'd have them removed on the code they took and now they don't want to change it to something simpler.
no, a couple days ago you could hover over the userpics to get the usernames, and the mods have since uploaded the pics to imgur instead. someone definitely bothered to get buttflustered about a hover menu.
