honestly? just cut your ties and don't look back. i'm sorry if that's hard. trust me, this was exactly what i asked myself and felt really bad. i hate just dropping contact with people, too. it makes me feel like a total jerk. ask yourself is it really worth hanging on looking for an excuse all the while knowing how much of an abusive creep he is?
