Oh, it was absolutely bad writing. Not in the sense of introducing her, but in the sense of turning an interesting and clever woman who refused Ragnar's offers of marriage until he properly proved himself (and didn't break up any existing marriages because he'd already parted with Lagertha and a second wife) into a hypocritical homewrecking idiot who does nothing but look down her nose at everyone else, whine, and shit out sons every 9 months or so.
Yeah I mad. Original Aslaug didn't deserve this trainwreck of a show.
