they not need to give specifics about fox cults, they just need to prove that their character is suitable for the game (as in: somewhat proactive). there's nothing wrong with playing SoL sometimes but if that's all you want to play there are other games without caps.
maybe? but you're essentially saying that everyone that plays in the game has to be fully 100% invested in the war, and that won't work for all players, or all characters. as long as all parties are meeting the ac, it doesn't really matter what they do, tbh. would i like more active characters? sure, but i'm not the one playing them, so i don't get to control what they do or how they play.
a game cap doesn't mean anything beyond numbers. whether it's an app cap or a game cap, it's still just about letting people who want to play in the setting do so and putting a limitation on it. that's all. if someone apps in and is accepted, what they do after that isn't really anyone's concern as long as they meet the ac requirements. in a perfect world it might be nice to have the spots only taken by people who are going to be proactive, but this isn't a perfect world, it's just a hobby, and people are gonna do what they wanna do.
are there any casts that are really doing that, though? some people have paired off and fucked off to do their own thing but other than the tolkien group that just flounced i haven't noticed entire casts ignoring the setting.
no, but do you think anyone would actually put 'apping in just to play ooc buttsex'? adding something like that on an app is pointless, because people can just bullshit to get in. that and things change. there aren't a lot of people that know right off the bat exactly what they plan on doing with their char, because it's impossible to tell right off the bat what you're going to wind up involved in. if someone put in that they'd like to work on getting involved in healing arts, but wind up not doing anything at all even close, do they get in trouble for that? because i can tell you that someone who decides to do shipping is going to have that part of their app called into question if they don't do what they put in to the letter, if they even have that part of their app up for anyone to see.
sorry, anon, but you're just going to have to deal with people playing in a way that you don't agree with. a lot of drops have been happening lately because people are taking time and playability into consideration, so hopefully people that plan on just apping in to buttsex won't bother.
and ftr, wanting to play for a ship/friends/casts aren't bad things. that might be what draws them into a game, but hopefully they'll extend beyond that. most do. some don't. c'est la vie.
