they sound like religious zealots tbh, acting like their pure cartoon where nothing ~mean~ happens has been tainted by the sin of problematic uncle grandpa

then I guess they missed that episode where amethyst and greg watched that one show until it turned into an emotional atomic bomb, with amethyst crossing the line so many times it was like she played jump rope with it

or the one where the ~good guys~ were evidently keeping a gem prisoner in a magic mirror and using her to power it for millennia

or the one where sadie hid the only avenue of escape off an island so she could spend time with a guy who's just not that into her

or when pearl nearly got herself and steven killed because she was that focused on going home

or literally every other episode when they beat a monster of the week because each and every one of those so far has been a corrupted gem they're keeping prisoner

basically say uncle was nigh unwatchable shit but anyone whining about how steven universe was their perfect gentle paradise before then is an idiot
