he basically realized he's aging like spoiled milk and said "fuck it, i'm gonna do this with some dignity" (unlike other actors in this very franchise who are still "sex symbols" yet look like decaying beef jerky) and stuck to voice acting

that being said i think the reason the contrast is so harsh is because he started out, like, teen idol gorgeous

harrison ford may look like beef jerky but he's not that bad. hamill looks like spoiled milk not even that he aged like spoiled milk. he looks like someone poured spoiled milk into a face mold.

to be fair to Mark Hamill, he just aged like an average guy to my eyes. Not 'hollywood' aging, which is very different. If I saw him on the street I wouldn't find him more or less attractive that the normal guy his age. The beard though, that's not helping him any. At all.

also harrison ford has had a great deal of work done to try and preserve his youth

mark has not, aside from what was required to keep a face at all after his accident. he has always known that his initial reconstruction would only be short term and as he aged hed look progressively weirder, which is exactly whats happened

all things considered, i think he looks great and i like the beard

more likely after having to undergo massive reconstructive surgery after a terrible accident, he had zero interest in more plastic surgery, which could have far more dire consequences than just making him look strange.

it's pretty gross to be talking about somebody's looks when they're most likely a result of an extremely disfiguring accident and the measures that were taken to deal with it at the time, imo.

dda, not at all. i think maybe you're a bit younger? i'd say anyone over 25 would probably know?

either way, he's actually still in a lot of stuff. he just sticks primarily to voice acting (lbr is there a joker better than him?) and the occasional shitty b-movie. i've honestly enjoyed more things that he's done since 1990 than harrison ford has.

i'm almost 40. i just didn't pay much attention to star wars or anything related to star wars. and since he hasn't been in much where i've been able to actually see him, he's been off my radar for a few decades now, except for that time when i had gen in a game with me.

are you stupid? they had to work on the skin in depth to save his face. full facial reconstruction doesn't just involve the bones underneath, dipshit. this was also around three decades ago. a lot of the refined techniques used today weren't in existence then.

get your face destroyed and rebuilt and see how you look in 30 years, asshat.

methinks you're taking this waaaaaay too seriously, more than mark did at any rate. he's flat out said multiple times that the accident wasn't as bad as everyone said it was and that he only broke his cheek and nose. plastic surgery was just really really shitty back in the 70s, and drinking + drugs + smoking + bad dietary choices probably contributed to it.

but what do i care, this is wankgate. you fuckers will have conniptions over the logistics of playing talking ponies so why the fuck not, let's argue about mark hamill's fucked up face too.
