yeah that's actually kind of been the revelation as i think about this. now that the canon ship is no longer viable, i can get my character in the process of coming to peace with it and get into crosscanon ships!
that's actually pretty exciting, because my character's romantic focus has been so singular for so long, and they can finally get past that.
that's a possibility, maybe she knows or thinks it won't be as good irl. but even then you'd think...she'd get over it eventually? and we'd stop having to fucking hear about it
it isn't so much about permission for me, but that i don't think i'd want to play in a game where important castmates aren't interested in playing with me at all, no matter how willing i am to work with what they have going already
i've dropped games over unwelcoming casts before, it's better to have some idea what i can expect before going to the trouble
slightly off-topic, that kitt player who called her on it was right to begin with, but holy shit did she go off the rails and get needlessly and hilariously aggressive about it.
as someone that played that character who's singularly focused, it can make playing in a game really difficult with them. added difficulty depending on if that li is in the game or not. that's why i used to play from an earlier canon point because i just didn't want to deal with that, but that can come with a lot of its own problems, so it comes down to 'which lame scenario do you want to deal with less?'
it's nice when you can do more than one thing with a character, more so when you can feel like they're evolving.
yeah i've definitely tried earlier canon points for mine so that the ship didn't matter, but as part of playing the canon ship we updated to the same canon point where they were more explicitly getting romantic
it worked while it worked, and it would probably have been harder to have them go without the other character a year ago, but we got them to a place where i think mine will be okay without them, and knows it will be better for them to move on
oh, me, too. if that's a concern for you, absolutely reach out to people and see what they're up to in game and how they feel about your character like I said in my original comment, but I see that more as touching base and protecting your own interests than asking for their permission.
LMAO is this bitch going to actually claim that Kippur and Murgy manipulated her into doing what she did? I feel like this is what she's setting up. As if the pastebins don't make her look guilty enough as it is.
please leak her big speech if it doesn't come up on the ooc comm.
as a mod, I've given extra exemptions for AC when my players have gotten sick or had RL emergencies and as a player, I've had a mod give me a free pass at a game without strikes because I had a mental health crisis and it was very kind of compassionate of them. If they just need like an extra month to get their shit together, I'd give it to them for an emergency or health issue, but if there really is no end in sight, I would probably tell them that we would welcome them back when things settle for them, but that it doesn't seem fair to other players to let them stay indefinitely without passing AC.
Caerbannog 4 hours ago I have a great idea. If you're really sincere? Make a public fucking apology to Gabby
Gen 4 hours ago Vespurrs Thank you for your suggestion and, if certain circumstances are in place, that would be a really great idea. I've been talking to her though, so I'll wait to see what comes of our discussion before
i'm losing my shit over this exchange. before she went full internet tough guy, caerbannog/vespurrs sounded like a normal, if aggressive, human being. meanwhile gen is forcing herself to sound like a customer service robot.
