I don't play my characters as ooc or drunk. I pick my texts carefully so they fit the character, potentially to the point where there's nothing about them and they're just talking about what "you" did last night, then use it as a bouncing point for the conversation, which remains ic.

It's not difficult.

I thought most of the fun of the TFLN meme was to find good TFLN that fit your character. At least it is for me.

I think you're missing the "from last night" part. You can be playing the morning after, aka no longer drunk.

Also the context of the individual texts are not always drunk.

Tbh all the premise of the meme is that the first text be from the website, and even then people alter or make up their own texts.

Trust me, I've had enough hangovers in my time. Still feeling the toxic elements of alcohol without the pleasant inhibition lifting parts doesn't lend to the crazy drunk shenanigans you seem to think have to make up tfln 100%

I don't get how 'find a tfln text that fits your character and lets you have an ic thread off it' equals 'use a gen texting meme instead' in your mind but okay. I'm not the only one who uses tfln this way, judging by the amount of threads I stack up weekly, and I really doubt all of those people are going to listen to you that they're doing it wrong when you don't even play in it to know.

tfln isn't even for writers. it's for lazy internet hipsters who want a quick and easy writing fix without all the burdensome work that comes with actually writing. it's popular because there's lots of lazy and talentless people in the world and our hobby is not immune. i'd trade all 10,000 of your "stacked up" tfln memes for one good real thread though, and i can only mourn at how most of the real writers in this hobby are either sticking to games/museboxes or have moved on to greener pastures

i can look anywhere else- tumblr, gaia, forums, fucking reddit and still find a shitload of people rping and advertising for rp. a lot of it isn't the best quality, but they're rping their little hearts out and enjoying themselves because they're not having to worry about fuckwits jilling themselves off to their own sense of superiority
