maybe you should, because that's generally what 'popular' means. if a meme is 'popular', it means lots of people tag into it. if it's some special substance meme that 2 people tag into, the only value it has is that you want to play in it and no one else does.

michael bay movies make bank, but they're garbage.

texting memes can have hundreds of comments and still be garbage.

if a meme only has 5 comments on it vs 2048, the difference there is that one meme has people playing in it and tagging out and the other one doesn't. you can't play alone, and good or bad, if no one else agrees with your meme rating, you're just going to be doing dick all while shitty garbage memes have people actually playing in them.

this isn't about quality, genius. it's about actual usage. some memes are pretty cool and get zero play and that sucks, but if you know that you go to play a meme and 100 chars are going to top level, that gives you more to pick from to tag with than 2. it's called math. i use it every day. two plus two is four.

tbh i don't even play in texting memes so i have no horse in this race otherwise, but seriously

you could fabricate the most complex and intellectually compelling meme this rp community has ever witnessed, but guess what. memes are for rping, and your golden-prosed meme premise is still worth exactly zero if nobody actually fucking plays in it. because if nobody plays in it, that meme still qualifies as a flop, regardless of how ~quality~ it may or may not be

this is not rocket science. make your own meme comm with your own quality rules, join a game with established quality to your tastes, or sit down and stop crying

who cares, though?

who appointed you quality police, to determine what memes are good enough to tag?

(frankly in my opinion, all memes are garbage, but you don't see me whining about the existence of meme comms.)
