okay but biologically how does having an external spine lower stimuli when presumably it would still be attached to the nerves and the brain? it's just a transmitter cable. also isn't that a stupid modification to give the group that is supposed to be high-activity, I assume combat and the like? our bodies are built to protect our spinal cord.
tbh by this point the weekly handflap about "oh no people are complaining about shipping memes, how dare!!!!!!!" is infinitely more annoying than any complaints about shipping saturation that drift across my timeline.
(tbh i kind of feel bad for her because i think she's still a teenager and if she is on the spectrum, might not get social things - and could very well hate hugs irl)
you could not sound anymore white and racist as fuck right now. those aren't your cultures to appropriate because you didn't play Barbies like those other brainless girls ew ew
gr8 job lumping different native american tribes together too
oh, i thought ayrt's idea was neat. It would kind of be the other side of the coin of Kirby as childish — childhood can be alarmingly amoral, though Kirby's good intentions would presumably temper that aspect before it hit the "edgy tryhard" you're worried about.
isn't she asian? her and qing and all those other tumblerinas bitch about whitewashing all the damn time and yet all i see in these aus they make is a sea of pretty white pbs.
there are some people on my timeline who do this constantly and yet can never seem to be assed to tag any of the gen memes that are right there on the first page. i don't even play in memes and i'm getting sick of it.
it's 2edgy on its face, though, by taking something that is meant to be surreal and whimsical and applying real life psychology and consequences to it. it's like making a pokemon game and setting it in a post-apocalyptic worl-oh wait, someone did that, and it's just as fucking stupid.
But you're still going to be shouted down as WRONG!!!! THAT'S NOT HOW IT WORKS!!!! When that's exactly how fictional media treats the soul mate concept.
To be fair, the first Pokemon games has you dealing with the mafia who canonly abuses animals, there's massive hints that a war took place not too long ago, some dex entries are horrifying as hell, etc. Pokemon has some dark shit in it when you actually look into it.
> There's not really anything romantic about some weird magic thing making someone love someone in spite of who they are because of some magical bond
where are you people getting this from exactly? i'm really confused by this specifically because most of the people in this thread have stated that's not what they mean at all when they talk about the appeal of this trope.
Because that's, by and large, how the trope is applied. With the trope of Reincarnated Soul Mates, you are, by and large, connected by a ~magical bond~ that ~transcends time~ and bullshit like that.
