SU's definitely hinted at sex before (Vidalia & Marty, Rose's incredibly flirtatious "ohh yes" in response to Greg saying things have been fun, and I'm preeetty sure there was implied Lars/Sadie fooling around at the beginning of Horror Club, etc) but everyone likes to associate sex with the one thing explicitly stated to be plain and simple love and communication. Go figure.

Pearl doesn't/didn't like Greg for a long time. He represented something she had a hard time accepting -- that Rose could and ultimately DID choose someone else, and now she's gone. She's held pretty clear resentment toward him, unwarranted or not.

If someone I'd disliked for that long grabbed my hand and said "Dance with me!" I'd have kneejerk revulsion too. It has nothing to do with sex or sexuality, and it's kind of a disservice to the writing to assume it's all about fucking.
